Taize on August 14th at East Liberty Presbyterian Church -- Update

Wednesday, August 14  -- 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. @ East Liberty Presbyterian Church
We will gather at East Liberty Presbyterian Church for their weekly Taize service of sung prayers and meditation.  At 6:00 p.m., we will meet with Rev. Mary Lynn Callahan, Director of Spiritual Life Ministries at ELPC, who will tell us about the history and form of Taize.  The service begins at 7:00 p.m.  Pastor Susan will be available to accompany those who would like to walk the prayer labyrinth in ELPC’s outdoor courtyard either immediately before or after the Taize service.

Originally a refuge during the war, Taize has developed into an ecumenical prayer center for visitors from all over the world. Today the Taize Community is made up of over a hundred resident brothers, both Catholics and from various Protestant backgrounds/traditions. Taize wants to be a sign of reconciliation between divided Christians and between separated peoples.
