For the rest of my life, when I think of the word "flood," I will think about New Orleans and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina -- an aftermath that still lingers today. This is a portrait of mother and child that speaks to my Advent longing for the most vulnerable among us to be loved, fed and sheltered from the storm.
